Biffle fastest at Wednesday Kansas test

Trevor Bayne tests the 2013 Sprint Cup car
for The Wood Brothers at Kansas Speedway.
Greg Biffle just has a knack for getting around Kansas Speedway. The #16 driver topped the speed charts as teams tested the new asphalt and graduated banking at Kansas. Biffle circled the new surface with a best lap time of 29.205, 184.900 mph. He was followed on the scoring pylon by Mark Martin, Kasey Kahne, Marcus Ambrose and Kurt Busch.

"I didn't know to expect with the track, because I wasn't here at the tire test." Trevor Bayne said, after testing his 2013 ride. "A couple guys went out and said it was a little bit slick, so I took it easy. We picked up speed pretty quick with that third team car. We started off with 32 second lap times I think, and by the end of the day we were 30.40's or better, and that's a pretty good pick up."

Jeff Gordon added "This track went from being pretty abrasive and wearing the tires out to now it's smooth and just super fast. The times don't fall off, if anything, they get faster. It's basically like going to a whole new race track.
